Smith Brothers Group was founded by Chris and Kevin Smith with the formation of Smith Brothers Plumbing in 1985. In 2000, Tyco International purchased the business. The business remained a subsidiary of a Public Company for 10 years, during which time Chris Smith remained as General Manager. The Management team has been exposed to being part of a NYSE listed Group, a Private Equity Structure and ASX listed Group. During this time, strict governance policies were developed along with strong financial reporting standards. In 2010, the opportunity to return the business from Norfolk Group to private ownership presented and Chris Smith today is the sole Director/Secretary of the Company.
Our experience and expertise in Facilities Management was gained during our association with Tyco International. We joined with other divisions including Resolve FM, O’Donnell Griffin, Haden Air Conditioning, Wormald Fire and ADT Security to provide FM solutions. Our Management Team headed up the hard services offering to the FM market.
Being a part of a large organisation gave us insight into the provision of hard and soft services. We’ve used the knowledge gained to develop systems and procedures using a multi-skilled and efficient team, to provide superior service and depth across critical service offerings.
When the business returned to private ownership in 2010, our strategy was to incorporate all hard and soft service offerings in-house with directly employed trades. This structure allows us to offer savings to clients through streamlined management, economies of scale, reduction in sub-contractors and decrease in red tape and duplication.
We have hand-picked industry experts from each field and have the latest technology and equipment from around the world. Our company operates 24/7 with the Service divisions of electrical, plumbing and Pipeline Technology Services having up to 10 employees working every night shift servicing SA Water, UniSA, Adelaide Airport, Corporate Clients and the domestic market. We guarantee we will attend all out of hour’s calls immediately.

We have also had the privilege of providing supported employment to two gentlemen with intellectual disabilities from Minda who have been in our company for over 20 years.

Modeltec is the Engineering, Design and Drafting Division of SF Management Group Pty Ltd. Modeltec is centred around BIM – Building Information Modelling, a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a facility.
